EQAO Math Test Grade 9

The Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics tests students’ knowledge of the Grade 9 math curriculum. There are separate tests for the Academic and Applied streams. The test covers the following four strands:

  • Number Sense and Algebra
  • Linear Relations

  • Analytic Geometry (academic stream only)

For each strand, students need to show they are skilled in Knowledge and Understanding; Thinking; Communication; and Application. The assessment has two components: multiple-choice and open-response.

For more information, including sample questions and formula sheets, visit the EQAO website. To see how Ask a Teacher can help you prepare for your test, go to the Test Preparation page.
