College Information Program (CIP) Thursday October 16, 2008 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM Timmins - bus provided - Sign up in Student Services Purpose: To meet informally with representatives from all Ontario colleges to answer questions, arrange visits and provide academic, housing, extra-curricular, and financial information. Getting Ready 1. Set up a binder or portfolio to collect all of your research into a single location - label it. 2. Include blank paper to record important information. Begin every conversation by asking the person their name and then write it down. Be sure to ask the person how to spell it - this sends the message to the person that they are accountable for the information they are delivering (it will put them on alert!) 3. Organize the information (brochures etc.) that you collect at the CIP - preferably by college. 4. If possible, try to visit the actual campus in person - if not try to access a virtual tour.
