College Preparation

College Preparation Information for Students Planning to Enter College After High School.

Students intending on applying to an Ontario college are encouraged to research their program choices and prerequisites using the yearly Ontario College Guide, the OSCA website (http://www.osca.ca or the Ontario Colleges’ website (http://www.ontariocolleges.ca).

Colleges may request courses at the U/C (university/college) level or the C (college) level. They cannot require courses at the U (university) level except for those programs that lead to a degree at the college level or through a joint agreement with a university. Workplace (E) courses may be used in a limited number of programs as described in the college calendars. Students are also strongly advised to investigate additional entrance requirements should their program choice be into an "oversubscribed" program. Transfer programs, co-op placements, applied degree programs and other opportunities should also be considered during research.

Students should consult with Student Services and attend college information sessions during their high school career to further their research to ensure they have the necessary prerequisites.
